The first thing Ryan asks about an office in South Yarra is how you get into it. Above the shopfronts on Chapel Street and Toorak Road, the answer is usually a street door and a flight of stairs. In the newer office and apartment buildings near South Yarra station, it’s a building manager and a lift that has to be booked. The cleaning is much the same in both. Getting to it isn’t.
What happens once we’re inside is the routine we run every fortnight at Pulp Digital’s studio in Richmond: desks wiped with the keyboards moved, screens dusted, the kitchen and bathrooms cleaned, every floor vacuumed and the hard floors mopped. The office cleaning page lists what a visit covers, and the whole Pulp Digital routine is written up here.
For us, commercial cleaning in South Yarra starts from Malvern East, fifteen to twenty minutes away. We’re a small team: Emma leads the cleaning, and Ryan does the quoting, the scheduling and the phone, and cleans too. If your office is closer to Prahran, Toorak or the Melbourne CBD, those have their own pages.
Stairs and no lift
In the older buildings everything goes up by hand: vacuum, mop, bucket, cloths and products. That’s our problem, not yours. The equipment is ours and comes with us each visit.
An upstairs office is easiest to clean once everyone has gone home, and any hour is fine with us: evenings, overnight, early mornings or weekends. Saturdays and Sundays are dearer, because the award pays more on weekends.
If the floors are old timber, say so when you ring. Boards get vacuumed and then a damp mop, never a wet one, because water left sitting on timber is what does the damage.
A building manager and a booked lift
Newer buildings swap the stairs for paperwork. Before anyone is let in after hours, a building manager generally wants to know who is coming, when, and that they’re covered. We’re insured and police checked, so Ryan can send our certificate of currency to the building manager before the first clean.
Tell us the building and how its lift bookings work, and we’ll fit the clean to the slot we’re given. The first visit is the long one, so that’s the booking to allow extra time for.

What we’ll say no to
We’re small, and it’s better you know that now. One tenancy, one floor or the shop downstairs suits us. A whole building that needs several shifts a day doesn’t, and Ryan would sooner say so when you ring than quote for it.

Questions about keys, quotes and windows
Do you need a key, or does someone have to let you in?
Giving us a key and your alarm code is simplest. We hold them for after-hours work and do the locking up ourselves, so nobody has to wait back for us.
Does Ryan need to see the office before quoting?
For a small office, the address and a description are usually enough, and Ryan will come back to you that day. For anything bigger he walks through the space first. The quote is free either way, and there’s no lock-in contract behind it. If you later want fewer visits, a break or to finish up, reasonable notice is all we ask.
Can the windows be done on the same visit?
Window cleaning, inside and outside glass, can be added to a regular clean or put on a cycle of its own. If the glass is high enough to need rope access or a platform, tell Ryan when you ring and he’ll say plainly if that part is one for us.
Call 0409 385 707, tell Ryan the address and whether it’s stairs or a lift, and he’ll take it from there. He answers at any hour. The form works too, and gets a reply the same day.
